The Construction Skills Institute (CSI) is a Ghanaian non-governmental organisation established to address the shortage of skilled, certified, industry-ready, and climate-competent construction professionals. CSI aims to bridge the gap between vocational training and industry needs through practical skills development, certification pathways, industry collaboration, and climate-responsive construction education.
CSI focuses on five key areas: technical and vocational skills development, certification and competency development, youth employment and inclusion, green and climate-resilient construction, and industry partnerships. These priorities aim to strengthen construction skills, improve workmanship, promote sustainable building practices, and prepare a competent workforce for Ghana’s construction industry.
CSI welcomes partnerships with development agencies, donor organisations, government institutions, construction companies, industry stakeholders, professional bodies, and educational institutions. We are open to collaborating with organisations and individuals who share our commitment to skills development, employment opportunities, and sustainable construction in Ghana.
Organisations can support CSI through project funding, donations of training equipment and materials, curriculum development, technical assistance, certification support, and industry placements for trainees. Partners can also collaborate with CSI to develop and implement practical training programmes that respond to the needs of Ghana’s construction industry.
CSI aims to bridge the gap between vocational training and industry requirements by promoting practical, industry-relevant skills development, competency assessment, and certification pathways. Through collaboration with employers, contractors, and training institutions, CSI seeks to help young people, women, and underserved communities access meaningful employment while supporting a more skilled and productive construction workforce.
